There are certain features that can be telltale signs of a nakshatra, even if the natives do not always look overtly similar across all features. There are a few specific features I love to check for when I'm suspecting that Ardra आर्द्रा nakshatra (6° 40′ – 20° Gemini/Mithuna sidereal) may be present. Ardra is symbolized by a diamond or a tear drop and is presided over by the storm God Rudra. This nakshatra has a very cool-toned & electrifying appearance, with lots of emphasis on the striking eyes (interesting in regards to its eye-focused symbol, the tear drop).
This nakshatra is the first expression of the coldest planet, the North Node Rahu, who rules the information we gain through our senses. This is reflected in the way their eyes appear alert, stimulating, and open. They tend to very solid in color, as well as vibrant and often times light in regards to one's genetic background. If they are not born with eyes of light shades, Ardra natives seem to be energetically drawn to wearing vibrant contacts. The eyes are slightly protruding, medium to close-set, and neutral to upturned in tilt. The pointy & pinched lower face (creating an inverted triangle face shape) is more de-emphasized in contrast to the stronger mid-face area, with more emphasized eyes and cheekbones. The nose, like trine Rahu-nakshatras, can also tend to be somewhat long, medium to large in size, and low-set. More specific information on this is in the slides below. The lips are generally thin to medium in fullness.

As with everything in astrology, these features to check for are a tendency not a rule for Ardra's physical appearance. A person's other primary placements will bring in features as well, though one will tend to come to the surface the most strongly (relating to their dominant planet); one can have an Ardra primary placement but be dominated by one of their other primary placements instead. In this way, I seek in these posts to isolate the Ardra appearance influence as much as possible by finding the most consistent common physical ground amongst its natives, while having awareness that each individual you're seeing has other astrological influences at play as well that make them unique. I wanted to make these posts so that you don't have to rely on two people looking strikingly similar to know they share a nakshatra, but rather can more consciously/logically check for certain revealing features even amongst people who have many differences.
